About AIIMS Kalyani

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani is a statutory body under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, located at Kalyani, District Nadia, West Bengal. This notice is issued by its Department of Psychiatry for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded research project. The project is titled "Faecal Microbiota Transplantation as a Non-Pharmacological Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder in Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease: A Multi-centre, Triple-blind, Randomized Controlled Trial". Dr. Arghya Pal, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, is the Principal Investigator (PI) at the AIIMS Kalyani site.

Posts and Eligibility

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): desirable

• Candidates with prior experience in work related to Faecal Microbiota will be preferred.

Project Technical Support-III: desirable

• Candidates having prior experience in working with patients with substance dependence will be preferred.
• Experience in sample collection, processing and storage, and in data entry/management.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Candidates need to be fluent in English, Bengali and Hindi due to the nature of the project. This applies to both posts.

AIIMS Kalyani Recruitment 2026 Job Description

The notice prints the same work responsibilities for both posts. The candidate is required to:

• carry out participant screening support;
• carry out data collection;
• handle samples and documentation;
• assist with data analysis;
• write project reports;
• undertake any other relevant work as assigned by the competent authority.

What to Bring

What Happens on the Day

• Candidates report by 8:00 am for document verification.
• The interview begins from 9:00 am at the seminar room, AIIMS Kalyani.
• If the selection committee desires, candidates might also have to appear for an MCQ based written examination.
• Eligible candidates are called for the interview through email. Candidates who are called for the final interview are chosen at the complete discretion of the Screening Committee.

Important Instructions

• The interview date of 28 November 2026 is tentative. Candidates should check the AIIMS Kalyani website regularly for updates.
• The posts are purely contractual for 6 months. The contract may be extended up to a maximum of 4 years or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier, as per approval from the competent authority / ICMR.
• The contract expires automatically on completion of 4 years, or earlier if the funding agency withdraws support. Either side can end it by giving 30 days' notice or salary in lieu.
• The appointment gives no right to claim regular appointment, permanent absorption or continued contractual appointment in AIIMS Kalyani/ICMR.
• Selected candidates are employed under the ICMR Project, not directly under AIIMS Kalyani.
• The appointment is full time, and private practice of any type is prohibited.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview. No hostel or other accommodation is provided by the institute.
• No allowance or facility other than the consolidated emoluments/salary is admissible. Leave is governed by the ICMR leave policy as amended from time to time.
• Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected without intimation. Canvassing of any kind leads to disqualification.
• Giving false information or suppressing material information can lead to removal from service and other action by the Government/ICMR. Candidates may also be disqualified at document verification if they do not meet the essential criteria.
• No individual intimation is sent in any form apart from email, so candidates should give an email address they access daily.
