About District Programme Officer, ICDS, Ballia
The District Programme Officer, ICDS, Ballia runs the Integrated Child Development Services in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh through 18 child development projects (Bal Vikas Pariyojana). This recruitment is being held under Government Order No. 1/1092245/2025/3313/58-1-2025(1917687) dated 17 September 2025, with the approval of the District Magistrate dated 3 November 2026.
Ballia Anganwadi Worker Vacancy Details 2026
The notice prints a total of 242 vacancies. These are the project-wise figures it gives, with the category break-up for each project (UR = Unreserved, OBC = Other Backward Class, SC = Scheduled Caste, ST = Scheduled Tribe).
The notice also attaches centre-wise lists signed by the Child Development Project Officers of Bairia, Bansdih, Belhari, Beruarbari, City, Chilkahar, Dubhad, Garwar and Hanumanganj. These lists give each vacant Anganwadi centre, its gram panchayat or ward, its unique code and its reserved category. The complete gram sabha and ward-wise details, with reservation, are posted on the notice boards of the Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan, Tehsil and Block offices, and are uploaded on upanganwadibharti.in. Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 35 years. A candidate must be 18 years old on 1 July 2026. Only the date of birth recorded in the High School marksheet and certificate is accepted.
Educational Qualification
- The minimum educational qualification is Intermediate or equivalent.
- The merit list is prepared on the basis of educational qualification up to a maximum of Postgraduate.
- Only women candidates are eligible.
Other Conditions
- Two women from one family will not be appointed at the same Anganwadi centre.
- Residence and caste certificates are valid only if the Tehsil has issued them online with a digital signature and they can be verified online.
- The income certificate must be issued by the competent authority under Revenue Section-9 Government Order No. 3959/1-9-11-Raj-9 dated 30 September 2011 (as amended). It must be verifiable online and must have been issued within three years before 26 November 2026.
- Income, caste and residence certificates issued after 26 November 2026 will not be accepted.

Ballia Anganwadi Worker Selection Process 2026
Selection follows the Government Order dated 17 September 2025. Merit is based on educational qualification. For each centre, candidates are considered in this order of preference:
- Widowed, legally divorced or abandoned women from below-poverty-line (BPL) families who live in the same gram sabha, or in the same ward in urban areas.
- If there are none, BPL women from the same gram sabha or ward.
- If there are none, widowed, legally divorced or abandoned women from above-poverty-line (APL) families of the same gram sabha or ward.
- If there are none, women from APL families of the same gram sabha or ward.
- If no eligible candidate in any of these groups is found in the gram sabha, selection is made category-wise from the concerned Nyay Panchayat in the same order.
A widow must provide a death certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Officer or the urban local body, along with a certified copy of the family register. A divorced or abandoned woman must provide a legal order issued by a court. The BPL income limit for rural and urban areas follows Social Welfare Section-2 Government Order No. 22/2015/2123/26-2-2015 dated 14 September 2015 (as amended). The selection committee or appointing authority has the power to cancel any selection.
