About TNNLU

Tamil Nadu National Law University is a university in Tiruchirappalli, established under the Tamil Nadu National Law University Act, 2012 (Tamil Nadu Act No. 9 of 2012). The Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, who is the Chancellor of TNNLU, has constituted a Search cum Selection Committee to prepare a panel of names for appointment to the post of Vice Chancellor.

Who Can Apply

The Vice-Chancellor should be a distinguished academician with the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment. The candidate should have either:

• at least ten years of experience as a Professor in a University, or
• at least ten years of experience in reputed research organisation and/or academic / administrative organisation, with proof of demonstrated academic leadership.

The candidate should have proven leadership qualities and be able to lead the University in promoting teaching and research to the highest level of excellence. The Vice-Chancellor should also be able to promote the University at the national and international levels and build strong linkages with reputed academic institutions, Government and Industry.

Age limit: the candidate/nominee should not be above 67 years of age as on 16 November 2026.

Pay and Terms

The terms of appointment will be as per the Tamil Nadu National Law University Act, 2012. The notice does not print the pay or allowances for the post.

The notice asks for a soft copy by email and a hard copy by Speed Post. Both must reach on or before 5 PM on 16.11.2026.

Applications received after the last date, or those that are incomplete, will not be considered.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interaction with the Search cum Selection Committee. They will be paid T.A./D.A. as per the university rules. The Committee prepares a panel of names for appointment to the post.
