About RNU DDK Bhopal

The Regional News Unit (RNU) of Doordarshan Kendra, Bhopal, is the news unit at Shyamala Hills, Bhopal. The notice is issued under the signature of the Head of News. It refers to Prasar Bharati and to the Director General, DD News, who may cancel the empanelment process.

Where and How to Send

Send the application in the prescribed format at Annexure-A, together with copies of the required documents, either by hand or by speed post to: Director News, Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Shyamala Hills, Bhopal- 462013.

• Put the application in a sealed cover.
• Write on the cover: "Application for the Post of Casual Assignment basis post name" with the post name filled in.
• Applications submitted on working days are accepted from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM.
• Persons already empanelled on the current panel of Doordarshan Bhopal must also apply compulsorily.

Annexure-A asks for the post applied for, name, date of birth, father's/husband's name, permanent and present address, mobile number, email ID, educational and other professional qualifications, languages known (speaking and writing: Urdu, Hindi, English), employment and media experience, any other relevant information, and whether the applicant already works in All India Radio/Doordarshan. A recent passport size photograph is affixed and the form is signed with a declaration.

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Essential

• Degree from a recognized University.
• Degree/PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication.
• 3 years experience in the relevant field.
• Proficiency in relevant language.

Desirable

• Acquaintance with regional/National/International affairs.

Age and residence

• Age: 21-50 Yrs. The notice prints no cut-off date for age and no age relaxation.
• Applicants must be Indian citizens residing in Bhopal.

Selection Process

The notice says RNU DDK Bhopal/Prasar Bharati reserves the right to conduct skill tests to assess the skills, suitability and personality of shortlisted candidates. The tests may be written, interview, computer based test, test through video conferencing, audition, screen test and so on.

• Written exams may be multiple choice or descriptive.
• Interviews may be group discussions or one on one.
• Other tests named are voice modulation tests and editing software proficiency.
• No TA/DA will be paid for the tests/interview.

Important Instructions

• Casual category empanelment is not a regular post, and those empanelled cannot claim a permanent job.
• Selected candidates may get a maximum of 7 (seven) assignments per month.
• Applications without proper enclosures will be summarily rejected and no further correspondence will be entertained.
• Canvassing in any form will attract rejection of the application.
• There is no application fee.
• The Director General, DD News, reserves the right to cancel the empanelment process at any time, without prior notice.
• The Annexure-A declaration states that the assignment is not and will not be considered for employment.
