About RailTel

RailTel is a "Navratna" Central Public Sector Enterprise and an ICT provider. The notice describes it as one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country, owning a Pan-India optic fiber network laid along railway tracks, and as a listed company aiming to modernise the telecom system for train control, operation and safety. Its registered and corporate office is at East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi.

Through its strategic relationship with the Indian Railways, RailTel undertakes projects such as IP based video surveillance at stations, 'e-Office' services and short haul and long haul connectivity, and also provides passenger services including content on demand and Wi-Fi at major railway stations.

1. Type the application neatly on A-4 size paper in the format prescribed in the notice.
2. Sign the application and make sure it is complete in all respects.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of the documents listed under Enclosures below.
4. Superscribe the application as "Application for the post of Advisor (Signalling) - Northern Region".
5. Send it to the address above so that it reaches the office by 05-12-2026.

The notice does not mention a particular postal mode (speed post, registered post or by hand).

Posts, Eligibility and Pay

RailTel is seeking a dynamic, experienced and result-oriented ex-IRSSE cadre officer with good experience of working in Railway Signalling, including Planning, Design, Maintenance, Construction, Training, Estimate/Tender, along with EPC contract exposure pertaining to Railway Signaling Infrastructure.

• Post and vacancies: Advisor (Signalling) – Northern Region/ Delhi NCR, 01 post.
• Eligibility: IRSSE officer retired from Level-14 or above in CDA Pay matrix (7th CPC).
• Educational qualification: The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification.
• Experience: More than 30 years of working experience in Railway Signalling including Planning, Design, Maintenance, Construction, Training, Estimate/Tender along with EPC contract exposure pertaining to Railway Signaling Infrastructure.
• Age limit: The applicant should not be more than 62 years of age as on the closing date of application.
• Compensation: Consolidated lump sum payment per month will be equal to Last Pay + DA drawn minus Pension (before commutation).
• Contract duration: The engagement shall initially be for a period of one year, extendable based on organizational requirement, performance and mutual consent, subject to the maximum prescribed age limit, whichever is earlier.

Enclosures

Self-attested photocopies of the following documents must accompany the application:

• Pay Pension Order (P.P.O)
• Service Certificate issued by previous employer at the time of retirement
• One page write-up of work handled, including significant achievements, if any
• Address of the Vigilance Department of the previous employer for collecting D&AR and Vigilance Clearance

An application not accompanied by the P.P.O, the Service Certificate and the address of the previous employer's Vigilance Department, and any incomplete or vague application, will be rejected summarily.

Selection Process

Selection for the Advisor (Signalling) post shall be based on scrutiny of applications and a personal interview.

• Scrutiny of applications: the applications received are examined first.
• Personal Interview: the second stage of selection.
• Vigilance clearance: shall be obtained from the organization from which the applicant retired.
• Medical examination: selected candidates will have to undergo a medical examination/health check-up and will be considered for engagement as Consultant/Advisor only if found medically fit.

The notice does not give an interview date or venue.
