Age Limit

The age must not exceed 35 years as on the last date of application. The Terms and Conditions separately say that the effective date for eligibility and the upper age limit will be the date of the walk-in or written examination.

Essential Qualification

Post Graduate degree including integrated PG degree in Pharmacy, Pharm D, Life Sciences, Biotechnology and Biochemistry. This is the minimum qualification, and holding it does not by itself entitle a candidate to selection.

Desirable

• Prior experience in pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics and molecular biology experiments
• Knowledge of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and analysis
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Computer skills: GraphPad Prism, Excel, SPSS and "R" software
• Prior experience in tuberculosis or HIV research
• Prior publications in a relevant area (preferred)

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST/OBC/other candidates: as per ICMR guidelines.
• Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental candidates (including projects) and ex-servicemen: as per rule, in accordance with Central Government instructions issued from time to time.
• Experienced and skilled persons: concession to the extent of service rendered in research projects, as per the competent selection committee.

Other Conditions

• Applications are invited from Indian nationals.
• The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
• Candidates must make sure they meet the prescribed qualification and experience. A candidate who clears selection can still be disqualified at document verification if the essential criteria are not met.

Service Conditions

• The tenure is 11 months, on a purely temporary basis.
• The assignment is governed by the rules and instructions received from ICMR or the competent authority from time to time.
• The contract expires automatically at the end of the specified period unless it is renewed with mutual consent.
• Either side can end the appointment at any time with 30 days' notice or salary in lieu.
• Leave follows the ICMR leave policy governing extramural research projects.
• Private practice of any type is prohibited.
• The appointee must conform to the rules of conduct and discipline applicable to institute employees.
